Mason's 6th Birthday Party

Mason turned 6 on May 10th and he invited his whole class to come celebrate!  He requested a Star Wars party.  He had a Darth Vader pinata, homemade light sabers, and an R2D2 cake.  It was such a fun party!
(Many thanks go to my friend, Carla, for these amazing pictures).

Lots of goodie bags!

My friend made this amazing R2D2 cake.

Archie jumping with his light saber.  He insisted on staying shirtless the whole day.

Archie's friend, Jacklynn with our dear bunny.

Six Years Old!

Our pinata was falling apart prematurely, so we had to duct tape it back together.

Diving right in for the goodies!

He had a little help from a friend. :)

Funderland!

Riding the Carousel
For Spring Break, we took a trip to Sacramento and went to Funderland!  It's no Disneyland, but there are a handful of rides that the boys had so much fun going on.  To make it even more fun, my brother and his family were able to join us.

Flying with Dad

This was Archie's favorite ride.  He went on it with whomever didn't have a seat partner. :)

Archie was the only one who was small enough for this ride. :)

Such good drivers!

I take it back.  This was Archie's favorite ride.  Archie loved this little roller coaster.  He went on it a few times.

Having so much fun!

Boys and Bikes

My handsome Mason on his bike

My silly Archie on his bike

We go to the park every Sunday to let the boys ride their bikes.  Archie is getting really good at pedaling and can almost keep up with Mason now.

High five, Dad!

Planting Trees

We started these peach trees from seeds of peaches we got at a farmer's market a few years ago.  We were waiting until we bought a house to put them in the ground.  We moved them so many times, so it feels good to finally be able to plant them!

Mason and Archie love helping their dad with the yard work!

Snow!

The boys had been saying they haven't seen snow this year, so when Mason had the day off from school on Monday, we set off to find some.  We drove toward Tahoe and found a little hill where a lot of little kids were sledding and playing.  The boys had so much fun sledding, building a snowman, and having snowball fights!

Being pulled by dad is way more fun than sledding down the hill!  (Yes, that is a boogie board.  We're from San Diego, what do you expect?)

Our attempt at a snowman.

And, Archie eating it.

Mason wanted to pull Archie

"Faster!"

Archie loved sledding!  The faster the better!

Mason liked it once we could talk him into trying it. :)

Happy boys!

As luck would have it, the very next day it snowed at our own house!  It snowed all morning, so by noon we were worried we wouldn't be able to get out of our driveway (it's really steep), so we went and picked Mason up from school early.  Boy, was he excited to come home to find his backyard covered in snow!

Being silly

Our next attempt at a snowman turned out much better. :)
