Pastels on the Plaza

Yesterday we headed up to Arcata to see the local artists' artwork on the sidewalks. They were all done in pastels and were really amazing.

My favorite...I'm going to miss you, Eureka!

Elk River

Last weekend we took a trip to Elk River to pick some blackberries and enjoy the sunshine. Mason LOVES the berries! There is a 12 mile trail that you can take with berries on either side of it. It was lots of fun!

He found a good one!

All that walking was too much for him!

Carousel of Terror

The car dealership in town gives free carousel rides, so we decided to let Mason have a turn. He was really excited about it. He even picked his own horse... but, when they started it up, it really freaked him out. He was clinging to me and trying to climb off. I guess we will wait a little while for the next ride.

Staring longingly at the carousel

Before they started it up.

You can't tell in the picture, but it is actually going pretty fast.

Fort Huss

Sundays are our days to relax. We usually get up and make pancakes together, then just chill all day. Last Sunday, Max built Mason this pretty sweet fort. As you can tell, Mason was enthralled! I think Max had more fun than Mason did, but that's okay.

Samoa Beach

Last night we went to Samoa Beach to let Mason play in the sand. The sun was setting and it was really beautiful. We had a lot of fun and decided it is our new favorite beach!

Doing his usual...finding rocks to throw.

Running from the waves!

A couple of cool guys.

Sequoia Park & Zoo

On Sunday we went to the zoo and park. This is where we go when we don't really have anything else to do because Mason always loves it! There is a petting zoo there that Mason just goes crazy in! Next door to the zoo is an amazing park with slides built into the redwoods!

The Rad Slides

Here he is going for the chickens!

He loves the animals' ears and eyes...the things you aren't supposed to touch!

Trinity River

On Saturday, we decided to ditch the cold, foggy weather and head to Willow Creek. It was a nice 80 degrees there, which is something we haven't experienced in a while. We had fun swimming and enjoying the sun. Mason loved finding rocks and throwing them into the river. It was a great day!

He found a good one!

Mason of course found a puddle of mud and decided to hang out in it!

Not the best family photo, but we have to take what we can get!
