Wild Animal Park

On Sunday we went to the Wild Animal Park. It was the first time we had ever been and we were really impressed. It is way better than the zoo. All the animals are out in the open and the walkways are shaded and it feels like you are walking through the woods. It's really cool. They also have a carousel , some playgrounds, and a couple of water places for the kids to play in and get wet. I think we will be going there more often than the zoo now!

Mason and Archie were chasing each other through the tunnel!

Growling like a rhino?

See the similarities?

Max said Archie was shaking the whole time he was on this, but he was still smiling.

Legoland and the Aquarium

Yesterday we took the kids to Legoland. We had so much fun! Legoland is perfect for someone Mason's age. They have lots of little kid's rides and playgrounds. After Legoland, we went next door to the aquarium and let the kids check out the fish.

Touching the fish (don't worry, it was allowed).

It is hard to see in this picture, but Archie is kissing a puffer fish. The fish kept swimming right up to him to give him kisses! So cute!

Mason was a little nervous, but he didn't want to miss the oppurtunity to meet a lego guy!

Beach Bums

We go to the beach nearly everyday. The boys love it! They both love the water and making sand castles with daddy. Archie loves to eat handful after handful of sand and Mason loves to run from the waves! We have lots of fun!

Easter!

We had a really fun Easter weekend. On Friday, we had a play date in the park with Mason's friends, where we did a little egg hunt and they got to play. Then, on Saturday, we went to the community egg hunt and carnival. We thought that Mason was ready to do the egg hunt with the 3-4 year olds (since he will be three next month), but they wouldn't let parents in with the kids and he got freaked out. So, that wasn't much of a success. On Saturday night, Mason split his chin open and we decided to just butterfly bandage it. (The ER would have been crazy on the Saturday night before Easter!) It is healing up just fine, with what we hope will be minimal scarring. On Sunday, the kids awoke to Easter baskets full of goodies and then we did a small egg hunt in the front yard of grandma's house. Sunday afternoon, we went to sushi with my brother, and as we were buckling the kids in the car afterwards, there was a big earthquake. It lasted about 2 minutes and was pretty scary. We cut our trip short and decided to head back home to make sure nothing was broken (the quake was centered in Baja, CA). Nothing was amiss. All in all it was a great weekend!

The only good picture I got of their Easter baskets.

Max had put one egg on the wheel of our car. While Mason was too busy finding eggs in the yard, Archie found this one!

Mason is now a pro Easter egg hunter!
