Gardening at Amanda & Joel's

While we were visiting Amanda and Joel this weekend, they were working on their garden. Of course, Max and Mason are all about digging in the dirt, so they jumped at the chance to help.

Daddy's hard at work, while Mason takes a break.

Trying to get to the top!

A huge pile of dirt...Mason's dream come true!

Checking out the daily chemtrails that ruin our clear, blue sky!

Everyone's hard at work!

Christmas!

On Christmas morning we woke up and opened presents. Then we drove out to my sister, Amanda's house where we played games and relaxed. Amanda made our traditional Danish Christmas dinner of Swedish meatballs and twice-baked potatoes. It was so good! What a great Christmas!

Waiting to open presents

Tearing into them!

All Santa brought him in his stocking this year were Hot Wheels cars. I think he would have been happy with just those because once he saw them, he forgot about everything else we got him and had to play with them immediately!

So excited about the cars and trucks!

Aquarium of the Pacific

My brother, David also took us to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. Mason loves fish lately, so this was the perfect place to take him. Thanks, Dave!

Watching the scuba diver

The scuba diver came over to say hi to Mason. He was a little freaked out and was trying to get away from him.

Checking out the fish

While we were waiting for the seal show to start, Mason was up in front checking them out. He was entertaining everyone. He kept saying "whoa" when the seals did tricks.

Disneyland!

The week before Christmas, Mason and I headed down to Orange County to meet up with some family. While we were there, my brother, David took us to Disneyland! It was Mason's first time there, and although he had a bored look on his face most of the time, I think he liked it. He will definitely be more into it when he is older. It was a great day and we had fun hanging out with David!

Anxiously waiting for Dumbo. He was the most excited about this ride, but when it started to fly, he was pretty scared.

Casey Jr. Train..."too, too!"

What a sweetheart!

I was really nervous to take him on Pirates of the Caribbean, but Mason was not scared at all and he actually quite liked it. This is a picture of his face as we are going down one of the drops.

Jungle Cruise...his favorite!

Monterey

We spent yet another weekend at Mike & Kylee's house in Monterey. We love visiting and letting the kids play. On Sunday morning we went to breakfast and then headed to the beach. It was really nice weather and Mason enjoyed finding the seashells.

The best family photo we could get.

Here's my boys enjoying the beautiful weather.

The coolest guy I know!

Here's Thaddeus making sure Mason gets safely to the car. How sweet!

Soccer!

On Saturday Mason started soccer! It is a great class and was lots of fun. Mason did suck his thumb most of the time, but we got him to kick the ball a couple of times, too.

He found a baseball and would not put it down!

Going through the obstacle course. (Dada's bribing him with the baseball).

I think he was bored.

He really did not want to score a goal!

Dada's showing him where to kick it.

A Sunday Hike

Last Sunday we went to a really cool park that had lots hiking trails. We took a trail that had a farm at the end of it. Mason had lots of fun running on the trail and looking at the animals. On the way back down the trail, Mason fell and chipped his teeth on some rocks. I think I was more upset by it than he was. So, it's off to the dentist we go...

Cuddling with Mama

Checking out the goats.

Our little hiker

When we first got to the park, there were a bunch of people flying their model airplanes. Mason was, of course, riveted.

Trick-or-Treat!

On Halloween, we took Mason around our neighborhood to Trick-or-Treat! The whole day I was teaching him how to knock on doors. It worked, because every house we went to, he knocked on the doors himself. It was so cute, he would knock one time and then wait. We ended up only going to about six houses, because Mason was tired and it started to sprinkle on us. The pictures got posted in backwards order, but you get the idea...

His stash!

Waiting for our treat!

He's ready to go!

His fake tantrum because he didn't want to wear his hat.

Fun with Cousins!

Last weekend we went to see my brother Mike and his family to let the cousins play with each other. Mason pretty much worships Thaddeus, following him around and copying him. While we were there, Kylee and I took the kids to the pumpkin patch (if you can even call it that). It was in a big parking lot, with all of the pumpkins laid out on the cement. Oh well, I guess that's city life.

Thaddeus and Mason, doing what boys do.

Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday Mason and I went to the pumpkin patch with our friends Crystal and Mylie. Mason especially loved that he got to ride on the "biii" tractor! He kept saying "biiii" and "bump, bump" because the ride was really bumpy. We had a lot of fun trying to find the perfect pumpkin! Mylie was just as sweet as ever, with Mason pushing her away whenever she tried to show her affection. It was a fun day!

"I found one!"

The Big 3-2!

It's Max's 32nd birthday today! We celebrated with dinner, cake and presents! Max was especially excited about the Hot Wheels Ferrari he got. Whenever I say I want something, Max will say, "Yeah, well I want a Ferrari." So, I got him one!

"It's just what I wanted!"

Yummy cake!

Of course, what is a post without at least one picture of Mason! Here he is helping me make Max's cake. (And by helping I mean trying not to touch anything :))

Cars!

Our boy is OBSESSED with cars and trucks! Here he is lining them up on the back of the couch. David?!

Flower Gardens

On Sunday we went to the zoo again. We just discovered this huge flower garden right next to it, so we had to check it out. It's funny that we found it now that we are moving! Isn't that how it always is?

Traipsing...

He's actually looking at the camera!
